The Board Members of A Caring Home Inc. also bring their own uniquely caring situations to our Residential Services setting. Our Board Members vary in their careers, but share a passion for serving others. They range from a CAP Services Provider to a Youth Organized Sports Coach. Our Board Members advocate for the improvement of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and are actively involved in their communities.
Meet Nakia and Michael Newman…
Ms. Nakia Newman has been a member of the board for over five years. She is a banking professional, with over 17 years of global banking experience. She brings a wealth of corporate marketing experience, from co-brand credit card acquisitions, to retail private label. She is a member of the South Charlotte Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., where she also serves on the executive board. She is a member of the Weddington Elementary School PTA, and works as a volunteer. Additionally, she serves on the board for Providence Forest Estates Home Owners Association. She attended the University of Illinois, and resides in Weddington with her husband of 13 years and 2 young boys.
Mr. Michael Newman is a Senior Retail Manager with over 20 years of retail leadership experience. He attended North Carolina A & T University, studying Marketing. His lifelong love of children has fueled his passion to be a certified coach through USA Football, and Pop-Warner. He has coached various sports over 5 years. He currently serves on the board at Wesley Chapel Weddington Athletic Association, and is also the current Commissioner of Football for WCWAA. He has volunteered his time at various local events; CIAA, The Latino Festival, and Be the Match Foundation. He golfs annually for Grin Kids Charitable Foundation. Michael, a lifelong North Carolina resident, lives in Weddington with his wife and 2 sons.
